In response to the attack by Majdal Shams, Israel forces kill top Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut.

Beirut: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Tuesday (local time) that it has killed key Hezbollah leader Fuad Shukr in an attack in southern Lebanon, amid the continuing conflict between Israel and Hamas militants.According to the Times of Israel, the attack was carried out in response for the rocket attack against the Golan Heights, which claimed the lives of up to 12 youngsters. Shukr was regarded as the leader of Hezbollah's strategic division and a member of the Jihad Council, the organization's highest military council.

He has been in charge of Hezbollah's assaults against Israel since the Hamas attack on October 7. The military reports that he was behind the terrible attack that murdered 12 children in Majdal Shams over the weekend.

Shukr, according to the IDF, was in charge of the terror group's "force build-up, planning, and execution of terror attacks against the State of Israel" and was "responsible for the majority of Hezbollah's most advanced weaponry, including precise-guided missiles, cruise missiles, anti-ship missiles, long-range rockets, and UAVs," as the Times of Israel reported.

The IDF stated in a post on X that Fuad Shukr, also known as Sayyid Muhsan, was removed as the most senior military commander of Hezbollah and the right-hand man of Hassan Nasrallah.

Since October 8th, Shukr has been in charge of Hezbollah's strikes against the State of Israel. He was also the commander in charge of Saturday night's murder of the 12 children in Majdal Shams, northern Israel, as well as the years-long slaughter of many Israelis and foreigners.

The bulk of Hezbollah's most sophisticated weapons, such as long-range rockets, cruise missiles, anti-ship missiles, precise-guided missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles, were also created by him," it continued.

In response to the event and in support of Israel, US Vice President Kamala Harris stated that Tel Aviv had the "right to defend itself."

She reiterated that a "diplomatic solution" was required to put an end to these attacks.
