At the first follow-up, 30–60 days after discharge, dyspnea, fatigue, and mental health problems were reported by 18.6%, 10.5%, and 9.3% of the 8,042 participants. These percentages dropped to 11.9%, 6.6%, and 9% in 2,192 people after a year, the speaker stated.
In terms of geographic locations, a meta-analysis of 194 studies conducted in Europe (106 studies), Asia (49 studies), North and South America (31 studies), and other continents (8 studies) showed that the most common symptom reported by hospitalized, non-hospitalized, and mixed populations is fatigue, with rates of 28.4%, 34.8 percent, and 25.2%, respectively.
